The Type 2 Ka-Mi amphibious tank was developed for the Japanese Imperial Navy to be used for amphibious operations by the Special Naval Landing Forves (SNLF). It was based on the armament and running gear of the type 95 Ha-Go light tank with a sophisticated system of detachable flotation systems for amphibious operations.
